Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what Mäksē Live collects, why, and how it’s used. Mäksē is operated by The Mäksē Agency Corporation.

1. Information We Collect

  • Account. Your email address, password (managed as an authentication credential by our platform), and name. If you sign in with Google or Facebook, we receive the profile information those providers share.
  • Profile. Your profile photo, phone number, city, username, and optional Instagram, TikTok, and Twitter / X handles.
  • Event activity. Events you create, your RSVPs, questionnaire answers, messages you send, and guest lists you manage.
  • Contacts you provide. When you add guests via CSV, your contact book, past events, or your phone’s address book, we store the names, emails, and phone numbers you provide so you can manage and message those guests.
  • Location. With your permission, your device location is used to detect your city for local event discovery.
  • Usage. Basic usage and log information collected as part of operating the service.

2. How We Use It

  • Create and manage your account.
  • Show and match local events.
  • Let you host events, manage guests, and send messages.
  • Let you RSVP and answer event questions.
  • Maintain an internal contact list (Master Contacts) of registered users and RSVP’ers, visible only to Mäksē admins.
  • Communicate with you about your account, security, and events.

3. What Other People Can See

  • Public event listings show the event title, host display name (not email), date, time, location, flyer, description, and attendance counts.
  • Your full profile, phone number, and email are not publicly browsable.
  • Hosts can see the names, emails, and phone numbers of guests on their own events, plus the answers to their event questions.
  • Mäksē admins can view the Master Contacts list.

4. Photos and Flyers

Profile photos and event flyers you upload are stored on public file storage so they can be displayed in the app and shared.

5. Service Providers

Mäksē relies on third-party providers to operate:

  • Base44 — app hosting, database, authentication, and file storage.
  • Google / Facebook — sign-in.
  • Twilio — SMS messaging for host-to-guest communication.
  • OpenStreetMap / Nominatim — reverse geocoding to detect your city.
  • Instagram / TikTok — optional connected accounts (below).

These providers process data on our behalf to operate the service.

6. Connected Social Accounts

  • Instagram (optional). When you connect Instagram, Mäksē accesses your basic profile (username, bio, follower count) and, when you choose to post, publishes event flyers to your Instagram feed. We may also manage comments on content you post through Mäksē. We do not receive your Instagram password. Disconnect anytime in your Profile.
  • TikTok (optional). When you connect TikTok, Mäksē accesses your basic profile information, profile details (such as links, bio, and verification), account statistics (such as follower and video counts), and your public videos where enabled. Access is read-only — we do not publish videos to your TikTok and do not access your TikTok password. Disconnect anytime in your Profile.

7. Cookies & Local Storage

  • We store your authentication token in your browser’s local storage so you stay signed in.
  • A UI cookie remembers your sidebar preference.
  • We do not set advertising cookies.

8. Data Retention

We keep your information while your account is active and for as long as needed to provide the service. When you delete your account, we remove your account data. Some records may be retained as needed to comply with legal obligations or to complete outstanding actions you requested.

9. Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your information, but no system is perfectly secure and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Your Choices & Rights

  • Access and update your profile from the Profile page.
  • Connect or disconnect social accounts at any time.
  • Request deletion from the Profile page or by emailing info@themakseagency.com.
  • You can decline location permission; local discovery will fall back to a default city.

11. Children

Mäksē is not intended for use by anyone under the minimum age required in their jurisdiction to use the service.

12. Changes

We may update this policy; the effective date above reflects the latest version.
